Victor Trevino, 87, long time resident of Pharr, Tx, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, July 24, 2020. He was born July 6, 1933 in La Fama, Nuevo Leon, Mexico. At 14 years old, he immigrated to California and met his first wife there. In 1976 he moved to Pharr, Texas where he remained until his death. He was a member of the Association de Charros, became a Mexican luchador under the name el Diablo Negro. He was a jack of all trades, a mason who landscaped the driveways in the Water Walk subdivision in Mcallen, building his rental home from scratch in Las Milpas and building his home in Pharr. He met his second wife in 1980 and married. He became a member of St. Margaret Mary Church and attended mass every Sunday. He was a security guard during the Wednesday night CCD classes and a helper during the annual Jamaicas. A devout Catholic, he served the poor and gave shelter, food, and money to people who needed help. He was a loving father and always cared for the necessities of his children. He loved playing his guitar at home with his long time friend and played Christian music.
Victor was preceded in death by his parents, Victor Trevino Sr. and Severiana Trevino, brother Felipe Trevino, Francisco Trevino, first wife Esther Ontiveros Trevino, and sister Manuela Trevino Castillo, niece Rose Carmen Trevino, and granddaughter Margarita Del Rosario Losoya.
He is survived by one sister, Guadalupe Martinez (Victor), wife Juanita Trevino, Children: Monica Estrada (Javier), Nazario Trevino, Cecilia Trevino, Eduardo Trevino, Karla Maldonado, Andres Maldonado (Yvonne), Armando Rojas, Victor Trevino Jr (Yara), Jesus Trevino (Iris), and Severiana Trevino. He is also survived by 29 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren.
Funeral mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday, August 14, 2020, at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church in Pharr. Interment will follow at Palm Valley Memorial Gardens in Pharr.
Funeral Services are under the direction of Legacy Chapels in Edinburg.
