ELADIO "LALO" CANALES McAllen- Eladio "Lalo" Canales, 90, entered eternal rest on Saturday August 16, 2014, at his residence in McAllen surrounded by his family. Eladio gave his time and love to his family and friends. He had the gift of listening and was always ready to give good advice. He was truly a joy to be around. In his passing he leaves us a Legacy of love, wisdom and guidance. He will be greatly missed but his presence lives on through those whom he touched. Eladio was a loving husband and an amazing father. He led his family well in faith, patience, and love. He instilled the value of family and strength in everyone fortunate enough to have met him. Mr. Canales is preceded in death by his parents, Marcelo and Maria Concepcion Canales; four brothers, Agoberto, Juan Francisco, Marcelo and Jose Antonio Canales. Eladio is survived by his wife, Enriqueta Canales; five children, Diamantina (Rolando) Molina, Sylvia (Osvaldo) Vela, Myrna (Jorge) Molina, Mario Canales and Mauro (Tina) Canales; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a brother, Jose E. "Pepe" Canales; a sister, Maria Del Socorro Gonzalez. Visitation will be from 5p.m. to 9 p.m., with a 6 p.m. rosary followed by a prayer service today, August 18, 2014, at Legacy Funeral Home, 4610 South Jackson Rd in Edinburg. Funeral Mass will take place at 10 a.m. Tuesday, August 19, 2014, at Holy Spirit Catholic Parish in McAllen. Interment will follow at Valley Memorial Gardens in McAllen. The Family is in the care of Legacy Funeral Home in Edinburg. McAllen-Eladio "Lalo" Canales, 90, entro al descanso eterno el sábado 16 de agosto de 2014, en su hogar en McAllen, rodeado de su familia. Eladio dedicaba su tiempo a su familia y amigos con amor. Él tenia el don de escuchar y siempre estaba listo para dar un buen consejo. Era verdaderamente una alegría estar con él. En su fallecimiento deja un legado de amor, sabiduría y orientación. Se le extrañara enormemente pero su presencia vivirá en todos sus seres queridos. Eladio fue un esposo amoroso y un padre increíble. Dirigió a su familia en la fe, la paciencia y el amor. Inculcó el valor de la familia y la fortaleza en aquellos que tuvieron la suerte de haberlo conocido. Él es precedido en la muerte por sus padres, Marcelo y María Concepción Canales; cuatro hermanos, Agoberto, Juan Francisco, Marcelo y José Antonio Canales. Le sobreviven su esposa, Enriqueta Canales; cinco hijos, Diamantina (Rolando) Molina, Sylvia (Osvaldo) Vela, Myrna (Jorge) Molina, Mario Canales y Mauro (Tina) Canales; ocho nietos; cuatro bisnietos; un hermano, José E. "Pepe" Canales; una hermana, María Del Socorro González. El velorio será de 5pm a 9pm, con rosario a las 6pm seguido por un servicio de oración hoy, 18 de agosto de 2014 en Legacy Funeral Home, 4610 Sur Jackson Rd en Edinburg. Se ofrecerá misa de cuerpo presente el martes, 19 de agosto de 2014 a las 10:00 am en la parroquia Holy Spirit Catholic Parish en McAllen. El sepelio se realizará en Valley Memorial Gardens en McAllen.
