Obituary of Maria Mercedes Castro Gonzalez

San Juan, Texas Maria Mercedes Castro Gonzalez,50, entered eternal rest Tuesday, April 28, 2020 surrounded by her family at Doctors Hospital at Renaissance in Edinburg. Maria was born September 24, 1969 in Mexico to Jose Castro and Leonor Gonzalez Felix. Maria enjoyed cooking, planting, gardening but above all she loved and enjoyed family gatherings. Maria will forever be in the hearts of her family and those that came to know her. She was preceded in death by her parents. Maria is survived by her children- Hector U.Hernandez, Jose A. (Itzel) Hernandez, Josue A. Hernandez, Jaden Hernandez; Her Brothers and Sisters- Rene Castro Gonzalez, Josefina Castro Gonzalez, Jose Maria Castro Gonzalez, Maria Antonia Castro Rodriguez, Maria Loreto Castro Rodriguez; and her one and only grandchild Hector Hernandez Jr. ATTENTION: LIMITED VISITATION- In order to protect our employees and the community at large to stop the spread of COVID-19, the following visitation guidelines are in place: capacity- 30 person rotation. Continue to practice social distancing while inside the chapel. Visitation will be on Monday May 4, 2020 at Legacy Chapels, 4610 south Jackson Rd. in Edinburg from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM. A celebration of life service will begin at 1:00 PM. Graveside service will be at 3:00 PM at Val Verde Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Donna. Funeral arrangements are being handled by LEGACY CHAPELS in Edinburg.
