Obituary of Refugio Garces Jr.

REFUGIO GARCES JR. EDINBURG - Refugio Garces Jr., 72, went to be with our Lord, Saturday, April 4, 2020, in Edinburg. Mr. Garces was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Jason Garces Jr., and Mayzee Garces; his parents, Refugio and Alicia Garces; his sister, Criselda Garces. Refugio was a proud Vietnam Veteran having served in the US Army. He enjoyed watching his Dallas Cowboys on TV and spending quality time with his family. He will be greatly missed and forever loved by all who knew him. Mr. Garces is survived by his wife, Sandra Garces; five children, Michael D. Garces, Refugio (Tania) Garces III, Lori L. Garces, Ana A. (Oscar) Frias, and Jason J. Garces; nine grandchildren, Joshua, Kristina, Isaiah, Nathan, Natalie, Ted, Nereyda, Amber, and Isabel; ten siblings, Baldemar (Gloria) Garces, Rosalinda Martinez, Ricardo (Rosalinda) Garces, Homero (Christina) Garces, Ludivina (Lorenzo) Villa, Nora Alicia (Rodolfo) Hinojosa, Elvia (Anthony) Stephens; Tomas (Antonia) Garces Sr., Lucinda Garces, and Antonio (Lupita) Garces; numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. with a 5 p.m. rosary, Tuesday, April 7, 2020, at Legacy Chapels 4610 South Jackson Road in Edinburg. Interment will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 8, 2020, at Rio Grande Valley State Veterans Cemetery in Mission. Funeral services are under the direction of Legacy Chapels in Edinburg.
