Eddie,
What can I say Brother? You've always been my favorite person at UT-RGV, you're just so smart and kind to everyone, and one of the coolest dudes I've known, in or out of the Marines. Man it was always good to imagine the future research we could do together.
Now school is about to start again, and I know I'm not going to bump into you and ... For real ... I don't want to be there!
Thank you for being my friend! I look forward to the day we meet again....because we will!
Say hi to my friend Tommy and my son would you, Bro? I know they'll see you the way I do!
You're friend and Brother,
Joey

Eddie, you were always so positive it helped get me through school. Even when I was very down on myself your relentless positivity would make me feel better. I hope to be as positive as you were.

Eddie, I had the privilege of growing up with you and our friends in Elementary... of course growing up after that we went separate ways; but one thing remained was how you were such a good friend when we would see each other down the halls in Jr High! We didn’t hang out again until after high school when I revisited with you all. My heart aches that you are out of this world and I hope that your at peace. The memories of you are all amazing, fun and part of my heart. I’m thankful for the friendship we had and will always remember you for you!

Eddie i met you in Convergys my first job. This is where i filtered into your group and friends and had the pleasure to meet you. Your smile was so catching, our conversations ranged from silly things to tutoring about Organic Chemistry. Last time I saw you you gave me the biggest hug. I close my eyes and can still see you standing in the Side Room listening attentively to the DJ. I pray that you are resting in peace and that God will watch over your family during this time. We will always miss you Eddie until we meet again.

Eddie, you were always a kind person. We attended South MS together but during middle school, my family moved across town and I had to attend a different school. However, I was able to keep in touch with you because our families attended the same Baptist church in Edinburg for a good while, so every Sunday we had a chance to hangout and I would sit with your family or you with mine during services. Denise would ask me random questions before going to children's church and your mother had the warmest smile. You were always attentive to the sermon being given. We lost touch during HS and the years afterwards, until two years ago. I was walking out of class by the science building at UT-RGV and I heard your voice call out to me (you were part of the few that still called me by my middle name). I was surprised to see you and we walked together to your class trying to catching up on past 15 yrs of our lives. I was happy that you got back into school, I dont remember if you stated if it was to finish your undergrad or a graduate program. And we never did get to go to lunch that semester to catch up some more, and I never saw you after that chance encounter but I still hoped and prayed you were doing well. I'm saddened that you are gone but I'm glad I don't have any bad memories of you. The memory of you with a small bible in hand listening to sermons every Sunday and of our last conversation on campus is what I'll cherish the most forever. I miss you, my old friend. I hope to see you again.

Eddie was my oldest cousin and as a family we had the pleasure to invite him into our home with open arms. His curiosity and intelligence for science was always intriguing to hear and learn about. My mother, Veronica Salgado enjoyed cooking meals for him, when he would visit our home. He will always have a special place in our family and hearts. We will continue to pray for him and the rest of the family. JUAN 11:25-26

Eddie,
You, Marcos, and I had some times back in the day, man. Good and bad. Despite the bad we were able to get passed it all and keep in touch here and there throughout the years. Wish we had gotten to hang out more though. Everytime we did, I was glad to hear that you were doing so well. Going to miss you, bro. We'll see each other again someday. Until then, I'll be praying for you and your family.
