ALMA DELIA FUENTES

EDINBURG - Alma Delia Fuentes 61, went to be with our Lord unexpectedly, July 2, 2019 at Renaissance Hospital in Edinburg.  Alma Delia Fuentes, was born on March 20TH 1958 in McAllen Texas. Widower of Ruben Campos, she was preceded in death by her parents, Silvestre Fuentes Sr., and Olivia F. Fuentes; three brothers, Edward Fuentes, Ruben Fuentes, and Silvestre Fuentes Jr. Alma received her GED and worked at Fermi Lab, as a chemist in Batavia IL in the early 80’. She later moved her family to the Rio Grande Valley in Texas, where Alma continued her education to become a Certified Nurse.

Alma enjoyed attending church at Basilica of Our Lady of San Juan del Valle Natinoal Shrine in San Juan. She had great passion for baking, decorating, planting, dancing, and singing. She will be remembered for her love of spending time with her children, grandchildren, siblings, nieces-nephews and daughters in law, every day and every holiday, they were the love of her life. Alma will always be remembered and loved by all who knew her. She was a devoted mother, one of the kindest person you could ever meet. Alma opened her heart and her home to all her family, and friends over the years, including Lilia Anes Rodriguez, her loving cousin who was always there for her.

She is survived by her children, Ruben (Josie) Campos Jr., Daniel F. (Ivonne) Campos, Joseph (Rose) Campos, Jacob (Julie) Campos, Isaac (Jennifer) Barbosa, Crystal (Rebecca) Aguilera, and Israel Aguilera; fourteen grandchildren; siblings, Raul (Carmen) Fuentes, Nancy (Claudio) Juarez, Genoveva (Mark) Fuentes, Olivia (Gabriel) Fuentes, Araceli (Joey) Fuentes, Noemi Robles, and Fernando (Emma) Robles Jr.; numerous nieces and nephews. 

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1p.m. with a 1:30 p.m. chapels service, Monday, July 8, 2019 at Legacy Chapels 4610 South Jackson Road in Edinburg. Interment will follow at Val Verde Memorial Gardens in Donna.
