ELIDA VARGAS EDINBURG - Elida Vargas, 60, entered eternal rest Wednesday, February 24, 20021, in McAllen. Mrs. Vargas was preceded in death by her mother, Dolores "Lola" Martinez. Elida enjoyed playing Loteria and spending time with all her family. She enjoyed being outdoors in her beloved ranch watering her plants. Elida loved purses, household items, thrift stores to include, Dirt Cheap in Tyler, Tx and Good Will stores. Her Sunday's consisted trips to Flea Markets with her beloved husband and cook outs with family. She will be greatly missed and forever loved by all who knew her. Mrs. Vargas is survived by her husband of 41 years, Ramon Vargas; three children, Ramon "Ray" (Gena) Vargas, Leobrado "Lobo" (Cristina) Vargas, and Elidita "Gorda" (Juan Corona) Vargas; numerous grandchildren; her Step-Father, Luis Martinez; four siblings, Jose "Pepe" Garza, Edith "Gorda" Hernandez, Luis "Luisin" Martinez, and Lydia "Lilon" Gonzalez; numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Monday, March 1, 2021, at Legacy Chapels 4610- South Jackson Road in Edinburg. Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church in San Carlos. Funeral services are under the direction of Legacy Chapels in Edinburg.
